The brimstone butterfly is one of the first butterflies sighted in spring, as adults hibernate over winter and emerge on warm spring days. This beautiful butterfly with its leaf-shaped wings is unusually long-lived for a butterfly, living up to one year in its adult form.
In this painting I wanted to express the singular beauty of those unexpected moments when everything comes together perfectly and shines with vitality and hope.
