And The Snakes Were Her Friends

£950.00

Oil on canvas-covered board

Painted area: 40 × 40cm

Framed: 49 × 49cm

The Greek myths are told and re-told, with the details of the story varying depending upon the narrator.

This Medusa painting emerged from my imaginings where Medusa is not pained by her transition, but empowered by her new abilities (which naturally become hers to wield as she chooses), with the snakes as her benevolent protectors and companions.
